Sander van Egmond site director Amsterdam F400 and new location: AM7

Soon a second site will open  in Amsterdam: AM7. Sander van Egmond will be the site director of this location and the existing location F400 in Amsterdam. In this interview we we take you through the plans for AM7. They are in fact quite progressive, innovative, and sustainable.

AM7

Sander: “We have now received the keys for the new building. In terms of facilities and security, we really rise above ourselves at this location in terms of innovation and new techniques.

For example, we will work with “Usage of artificial intelligence in cameras, p.e. license plate recognition, detection of moving and living creatures with infrared cameras, detection of individuals walking through gates where we would normally only have vehicles passing, Access and identity control with intelligent cards + hand palm scanning. Just to name a few examples.

Where are we at right now?

We are currently working on the design and furnishing of offices. In close consultation with the customer, we are still further developing engineering solutions for the building and processes, and it is expected that phase 1 will be completed in September. This means that we can start receiving the first goods and serve as an overflow location for our customer. In the meantime, the rest of the site will be further set up. We expect to be fully up and running with the new location by the end of March 2023.

What does this mean in terms of employees?

We have now found the operations manager for AM7. Part of the current staff in Amsterdam F400 will be transferred to the new location, but we are also looking for new colleagues. For example, we are urgently looking for a safety manager, a facility and procurement manager and warehouse operators. Do you know or are you such a person? Let us know!

What makes this location special?

Without a doubt the innovative character. The property is fully built to BREEAM’s highest ‘outstanding’ standards. BREEAM is an abbreviation of Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method and is a sustainability label for realizing sustainable buildings with minimal environmental impact.

Innovation also in terms of energy:

We are also making progress in terms of power solutions at Schiphol Trade Park, where all companies located there are designed and built to operate off-grid and are affiliated with STP’s Energy Collective. The building can generate energy independently and the electricity that is not consumed in the building is stored and also supplied back to the communal electricity network, which means that this development has given the building an A+++++ energy label.
Electricity generation, storage and mutual power exchange is made possible by the energy management system of energy and infrastructure specialist Joulz.

As a result, the multiple layers provide the warehouse with security of supply and the smartest choice is made where the power is obtained from (sunroof, battery, collective or generators) and what the power is used for.

This sustainable character also benefits the working atmosphere. Such a modern environment ensures good employer ship and characteristics that are particularly pleasant for the staff.
